O rompimento de um tanque de água da chuva acabou ocasionando na enxurrada que encobriu parte da mina
Um acidente em uma mina de jade em Mianmar
deixou uma pessoa morta e outras quatro feridas nesta terça-feira (12). Segundo a agência de notícias estatal chinesa Xinhua, um tanque de rejeitos rompeu, causando o incidente.
Ao menos 30 trabalhadores seguem desaparecidos desde o momento do incidente. Entretanto, pelas condições perigosas na região, os esforços de resgate foram suspensos.
A mina de jade fica na vila de Ma Na, no município de Hpakant, no estado de Kachin.
De acordo com a polícia local, o acidente ocorreu por volta das 5 horas da manhã desta terça-feira, no horário local.
O tanque teria cedido, provocando uma forte enxurrada de água e lama. O antigo poço de mineração fazia o armazenamento de água das chuvas e de rejeitos. A lama acabou inundando uma grande área da mina.
A equipe de resgate localizou um dos trabalhadores morto. Outros quatro trabalhadores soterrados, todos com graves ferimentos, segundo conta um dos funcionários da Organização de Resgate Kayunar, no município de Hpakant.
Esta não é a primeira vez que um deslizamento atinge a mina. Em 2021, um acidente parecido deixou uma pessoa morta, além de 25 pessoas feridas e dezenas de desaparecidos, segundo as informações do The National News.
